On the top shelf of display case 46 there is a splendid jawbone of an Odontocetus found near the junction in the road between Chies and Lamosano. These cetaceans, morphologically like dolphins, lived in the water of the Alpago basin and Belluno area gulf in the Tertiary period.
There are also some rays’ teeth found at Pianon near Santa Croce. The bottom shelf contains some sharks’ teeth, commonly found in sandstone and ammonites, molluscs, cephalopods (related to today’s squid), found locally and elsewhere.
