The central part of the panel is occupied by illustrations and explanations of the reproductive pattern of this division, the male flowers being different from the female. (the latter usually shown as cones). Some strobilus (cones) of spruce, silver fir and pine are on display along with a branch of scots pine showing male inflorescence and one showing female inflorescence. There are further photographs in close up and of coniferous environments. |
